    By Dropping it I mean from the that back of a truck, It being a couch, and Hot being not knowing how to tie a couch down properly so it doesn't fall off in the middle of the hot highway.

    I love Crossfit because frankly it saved my life. The workouts forced me to soul search each and every day which helped me realize who I was and what I was capable of. Life is crazy and will beat you down if you let it. CrossFit enables you to conquer life inside the gym and outside the gym. It has helped me become a better, stronger person period. Crossfit has transformed me from an addict to a strong, healthy, and confident person who loves helping others believe in themselves.

  • Giselle Janousek "GJ" / Coach

     

    She was introduced to Crossfit in March 2012 and then deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan where she became a part of Kandahar Crossfit and learned so much more about Crossfit and the tight community it promotes.  Shortly after returning from her deployment she pursued her Level 1 and began a 30 day on ramp Crossfit Program for her Security Forces unit.  "Once I started Crossfit I was totally hooked, love the relationship formed and love the way I feel!"  She is motivated to help others achieve goal they never thought they could reach!

    Promote the positives of doing Crossfit through proper training and help people feel great about themselves both physically and mentally!  Show everyone that the body can do what the mind believes it can!   Also, want to continue to expand my knowledge in all aspect of Crossfit and share that knowledge with the community.

  • Johnny Luna / Coach

     

    Johnny briefly started doing CrossFit at CrossFit Lackland in 2012. A short time later, he deployed to Afghanistan where he continued training at Vulture CrossFit based out of Bagram, AB Afghanistan. His first ever WOD was Fran (yes, he now knows how evil she is) and needless to say he did it RX. In short, it was brutal and he is not even sure how I managed to finish.

    “I remember thinking to myself how that 6 minutes didn’t compare to a 10 minute jiu jitsu match I have done in the past.” From there on, Johnny decided to continue his strength and conditioning with CrossFit which helped him in every way, from mobility to cardio whether at the box or on the mat."

    Coaches’ Goal:

    Johnny's goal is trying to make an impact on everyone regardless of their level of fitness or ability. He wants to be able to help our newest members as well as our coaching staff improve their abilities to be a better athlete and coach. As a coach, he hope members leave mentally stronger, physically more capable, and emotionally prepared for the unknown.

    Coaches’ Advice:

    Don’t allow fear to prevent you from successfully obtaining your goals. We all have a reason for why we do what we do and as long as you remind yourself of that “Why,” we at CrossFit Lackland will help you get to where you want to be at. If you humble yourself and come in with an open mind, then you’re already defeating that fear.

  • Jason Lydon / Owner & Head Coach

     

    Jason has been involved in CrossFit since 2006 while deployed to Iraq.  Like most, the first workout destroyed him, however once he discovered scaling the WOD's and setting aside his ego, a bit, he came to the realization there is no better program available than CrossFit to better prepare him for whatever life throws his way. Jason started training his coworkers immediately after returning from Iraq and found out what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Ever since then, there has not been a day for which he hasn't dreamed about having a location to introduce fellow men, women, and children to the CrossFit methodology.  He has been in the U.S. Air Force for going on 25 years and has been a Pararescueman for the last 21.
